UL 5476 Mica Wire
UL 5476 is a mica tape insulated wire rated 450°C and 600V AC under UL AWM Style 5476, produced under UL Follow-Up Service File No. E333030. UL 5476 uses mica tape as the primary insulation in a construction optimised for the highest temperature class — 450°C continuous — at the full 600V industrial power circuit voltage. The mica tape insulation of UL 5476 is wrapped directly over the conductor without a glass braid outer covering in some constructions, or with a minimal protective layer, providing a more compact overall diameter than glass braid constructions at equivalent AWG and insulation thickness.
UL 5476 is specified for internal wiring in industrial thermal processing equipment — industrial furnaces, ceramic kilns, glass manufacturing equipment, and metal heat treatment furnaces — where the wire routing environment requires both 450°C thermal performance and 600V dielectric rating, and where the wire OD must be minimised for compact routing through high-temperature insulated panels and ceramic conduit. For glass braid 450°C wire at 600V, see UL 5107 or UL 5335. All products comply with RoHS and REACH.
