UL 3271 XLPE Wire

UL 3271 is a cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated wire rated 125°C and 600V AC / 750V DC under UL AWM Style 3271, supplied as a UL Recognized Component — file on record. UL 3271 is a common XLPE AWM style for motor lead connections and equipment internal wiring at 600V, where the wire must withstand the circuit voltage and the elevated ambient temperature within the equipment enclosure. The crosslinked structure gives improved heat deformation resistance compared with many thermoplastic insulation materials, allowing a 125°C continuous rating.

UL 3271 is also available with an optional extruded or non-extruded semi-conductive polymeric layer over the conductor, specified when the equipment design requires it. Tags may indicate 2500 Volt Peak — For Electronic Use Only. Motor lead and equipment wiring applications should be evaluated against the wire rating, the temperature at the routing location, and the final equipment design.
