UL 5334 Mica Wire
UL 5334 Mica Wire — 450°C · 300V AC · Composite Mica Glass with Glass Braid
UL AWM Style 5334 is a composite mica glass insulated wire with a glass braid outer covering, rated at 450°C and 300V AC under UL Subject 758, Section 5. The insulation uses a non-extruded composite mica glass construction per the facing page, with a glass braid treated with silicone varnish or TFE finish as the outer covering. An optional stainless steel alloy 304 braid shield may be applied over the treated glass braid.
The permitted use is wiring of ovens or similar high-temperature equipment where the wire is protected from mechanical abuse, and where the acceptability — including current-carrying capacity — has been determined by UL. Typical protected internal wiring contexts include high-temperature industrial ovens, furnaces, and thermal processing equipment where the circuit voltage is within the 300V AC limit. Application suitability is subject to equipment design, routing conditions, mechanical protection, and current-carrying requirements — confirm at enquiry stage.
UL 5334 shares the 450°C temperature class with UL 5107 and UL 5128, but uses a composite mica glass construction rather than layered mica tape. For 450°C mica wire at 600V, see UL 5107 or UL 5335. For 300V thin-wall mica wire from 30 AWG, see UL 5360.
