High Voltage Wire

High voltage AWM wire covers internal wiring applications where the circuit voltage is higher than common 300V or 600V AWM hook-up wire — from gas appliance ignition circuits at 10,000V AC to high voltage DC equipment internal wiring. The insulation systems in this group are constructed for high voltage dielectric performance: silicone rubber constructions for the ignition wire styles (UL 3304, UL 3573), a high voltage DC construction for UL 3239, and a high voltage DC ignition construction for UL 1911. Voltage, temperature, insulation material, and construction depend on the selected UL style.

UL 3304 and UL 3573 are both 10,000V AC silicone ignition constructions: UL 3304 uses a thicker single silicone wall with a fiberglass braid, while UL 3573 uses a silicone inner layer, a fiberglass braid, and a sealed outer insulation layer. UL 3239 and UL 1911 are high voltage DC constructions, with conductor size, insulation material, and dielectric construction defined per each style’s listing. Confirm the specific construction against the application voltage and routing conditions.
