UL 3239 High Voltage Silicone Wire

UL 3239 is a high voltage silicone rubber wire rated 200°C with DC voltage ratings from 3,000V DC to 100,000V DC depending on insulation thickness construction, produced under UL AWM Style 3239 and File No. E333030. UL 3239 is the only standard AWM wire style specifically tested and rated for high voltage DC internal wiring — covering the internal lead connections in DC power supplies, high voltage multiplier stacks, electrostatic precipitators, X-ray generators, laser power supplies, and corona discharge equipment where the internal wiring must carry high DC voltages reliably over the service life of the equipment.

The voltage rating of UL 3239 is construction-dependent: thicker insulation walls produce higher DC voltage ratings, with common grades at 3kV, 5kV, 10kV, 15kV, 20kV, 30kV, 40kV, 50kV, 60kV, and 100kV DC. The 200°C silicone rubber insulation provides the thermal stability required in high-voltage equipment where the proximity of high-voltage components and power dissipation in the circuit raises the ambient temperature at the wire.
