UL 5335 Mica Wire

UL 5335 Mica Wire — 450°C · 600V AC · Mica with Glass Braid · 22 AWG – 4/0 AWG

UL AWM Style 5335 is a mica insulated wire with a glass braid outer covering, rated at 450°C and 600V AC under UL Subject 758, Section 5. The insulation uses mica wraps with a glass braid treated with silicone varnish or TFE finish as the outer covering. An optional nickel or nickel-coated copper shield, or stainless steel alloy 304 shield, may be applied. Both single-conductor and multiple-conductor cabled assemblies are available under this style.

The permitted use is internal wiring where the wire is protected from mechanical abuse, and where the acceptability — including current-carrying capacity — has been determined by UL. Typical protected internal wiring contexts include high-temperature industrial ovens, furnaces, and thermal processing equipment where the circuit voltage requires the 600V rating. Application suitability is subject to equipment design, routing conditions, mechanical protection, and current-carrying requirements — confirm at enquiry stage.

For the 300V mica glass braid variant, see UL 5128. For composite mica glass construction at 300V, see UL 5334. For 600V mica wire with single or multiple conductor options from 26 AWG, see UL 5107. For thin-wall mica wire from 30 AWG at 600V, see UL 5476.
