UL 5107 Mica Wire
UL 5107 Mica Wire — 200/450°C · 600V AC · Mica Tape or Mica Composite with Glass Braid
UL AWM Style 5107 is a mica tape or mica composite insulated wire with a glass braid outer covering, rated at 200°C or 450°C and 600V AC under UL Subject 758, Section 5. The insulation system uses multiple wraps of mica tape — or a mica composite construction per the facing page — with a glass braid treated with silicone varnish or TFE finish as the outer covering. Both single-conductor and multiple-conductor assemblies are covered under this style.
The permitted use is internal wiring of high-temperature equipment where the wire is not subjected to repeated flexing and is protected from mechanical abuse, and where the acceptability — including current-carrying capacity — has been determined by UL. Typical protected internal wiring applications include high-temperature industrial ovens, kilns, furnace enclosures, and thermal processing equipment where the internal routing temperature exceeds the limits of polymer insulation systems. Application suitability is subject to equipment design, routing conditions, mechanical protection, and current-carrying requirements — confirm at enquiry stage.
