UL Recognized AWM Wire — Internal Wiring Styles by Material
This category covers the UL Recognized appliance wiring material (AWM) styles CableApex supplies for internal wiring of appliances and industrial equipment. AWM is not a single product: each UL style number defines a specific combination of insulation material, temperature rating, voltage rating, conductor construction, and the application conditions under which the wire may be used. Selecting the correct style means matching those parameters to the equipment — the operating temperature at the wire, the circuit voltage, the insulation’s resistance to the chemical or mechanical environment, and the flame performance required by the end-use standard.
For the complete style index and temperature-class selection table, see the main AWM Wire category and the High-Temperature Wire overview. The sections below group the range by insulation material to help route enquiries to the correct style.
PVC-Insulated AWM Wire — 80°C to 105°C
The general-purpose baseline for internal wiring where the routing temperature stays within 105°C. UL 1007 (80°C / 300V) is the most widely used hook-up style for appliances and electronics; UL 1015 (up to 105°C / 600V) is the standard for motor leads and control panel power wiring.
XLPE-Insulated AWM Wire — 105°C to 150°C
Crosslinked polyethylene provides a non-softening, higher-temperature insulation between PVC and silicone. It is the common choice for motor lead connections where winding temperatures exceed the PVC limit, covering 125°C and 150°C constructions at 300V and 600V.
Silicone Rubber AWM Wire — 200°C
Silicone rubber holds flexibility and dielectric strength continuously at 200°C, used for oven, heating-element, and motor internal leads. UL 3135 is bare silicone for totally enclosed routing, with braided variants available where abrasion protection is required.
Fluoropolymer AWM Wire — 200°C to 250°C
Fluoropolymer insulation combines high-temperature performance with chemical resistance and a thin, uniform wall. UL 1332 (FEP, 200°C) is the lower-cost entry point, and UL 1659 (PTFE, 250°C) offers the highest abrasion resistance among the fluoropolymers.
Mica + Fiberglass AWM Wire — 450°C
Mica-insulated construction is specified where continuous temperatures reach 450°C — furnace, kiln, and extreme-temperature equipment wiring. UL 5334 (450°C / 300V) is a compact construction for space-constrained routing; UL 5359 (200/450°C / 600V) supports single and optional multi-conductor cable assemblies.
High-Voltage Silicone AWM Wire
Dedicated high-voltage constructions for ignition and high-voltage DC systems. UL 3304 (10kV / 200°C) is a fiberglass-braided silicone ignition lead for gas range and burner systems, while UL 3239 covers high-voltage DC wiring up to 60kV for electronic and instrumentation equipment.
Request a Quotation
To receive a quotation or specification confirmation, provide the UL style number (or the application temperature and circuit voltage if the style is not yet selected), AWG size, insulation material, conductor finish, colour, quantity, and a brief description of the application. Quotations are returned within 24 hours, and mixed-style or mixed-AWG orders are accepted on a single shipment.
