Power Cables for Equipment Internal Wiring

These are UL AWM / component internal wiring constructions, selected according to their individual UL Style, voltage rating, temperature rating, conductor range, and use statement. The actual Style always controls which construction fits a given connection — this category is a procurement starting point, not a claim that every product suits every connection point.
Power Connection Wire by Construction
Equipment power connection wiring is available across several material families, each selected according to the equipment’s electrical and thermal requirements. Individual products carry their own confirmed UL Style, rating, and conductor range — the descriptions below are commercial groupings, not universal specifications for every product in the family.
PVC Power Connection Wire
Qualified PVC AWM constructions can serve equipment internal power connections where their individual temperature rating, voltage rating, conductor range, and use statement match the equipment specification. PVC wire is not a single interchangeable product — different qualified Styles carry different ratings, and the specific product page controls the exact figures.
XLPE Power Wire
XLPE is another material family available for qualified equipment internal power wiring, offering an alternative insulation system to PVC. Selection between PVC and XLPE constructions should be based on the qualified UL Style and the equipment’s actual requirement rather than a general assumption that one material is universally superior.
Silicone and High-Temperature Power Connections
Silicone constructions may be included where individual qualified products support elevated-temperature equipment internal power wiring. Fluoropolymer and Specialized Power Wire
Fluoropolymer constructions — including FEP, PFA, and PTFE options where separately qualified — may serve as specialized internal power-wiring options where the individual Style supports the required electrical and thermal conditions. These materials are not treated as interchangeable; each qualified product carries its own confirmed rating.
Single-Conductor Power Wire and Cable Assemblies
This category may include single-conductor power wire, jacketed single-conductor cable, and appropriately qualified multiple-conductor or custom power assemblies, depending on the products available. Where an assembly is built from individually UL-recognized AWM conductors, the completed cable assembly does not automatically inherit the UL Style recognition of its individual cores — this distinction should be confirmed for any multi-conductor or custom assembly product.
Larger-conductor power leads are also available where equipment design specifies a particular conductor size for the circuit. We do not publish an ampacity table or calculate allowable current from conductor size on this page — current-carrying requirements depend on equipment design, conductor construction, operating temperature, installation condition, and the applicable end-equipment requirement. Selecting Power Cable for OEM Equipment
To select the right power connection wire, buyers should consider circuit voltage, required conductor size, conductor material and plating (if specified), solid or stranded construction (where applicable), insulation material, required temperature rating, whether a single conductor or a cable assembly is needed, required finished OD or dimensional restriction, mechanical protection or routing condition, colour, marking requirement, quantity, packaging, UL documentation requirement, equipment type, application, and destination.
UL AWM Power Wiring and Compliance Boundaries
Power Cables on CableApex may include UL AWM Style constructions supplied under the applicable qualified manufacturing scope. UL AWM component wire is selected for use inside equipment according to its Style ratings and use conditions — it must not be automatically treated as building wire, field wiring cable, flexible cord, or portable power cord unless a separate product standard explicitly supports that use. UL marking and documentation are confirmed according to the qualified ordered construction; applicable RoHS / REACH documentation can likewise be confirmed for the ordered construction where needed.
AWM Wire is the technical / UL Style product family on this site; Power Cables is an application-focused grouping for constructions used in equipment power connections. A given product may therefore appear in both its correct UL Style / material taxonomy and in Power Cables, where technically justified — these categories serve different navigation purposes rather than duplicating one another.
