Equipment Power Connection Wire — Supporting AWM Power Wiring
This is a supporting category for the power connection wiring used inside equipment — the single-conductor wire that carries power from terminal blocks and fuse holders to motors, transformers, and heating loads within an enclosure. These are UL Recognized AWM styles selected for their voltage and temperature ratings rather than a separate power-cable product line. CableApex’s primary range is internal wiring material; this category groups the higher-voltage AWM styles used for equipment power connections.
For the full range, CableApex’s stronger categories are the place to start: AWM Wire, High-Temperature Wire, UL Certified Cables, and Industrial Control Cable. The sections below cover the AWM styles applicable to equipment power connections.
600V Equipment Power Wiring
For 600V internal power connections — main feed to terminal, fuse to transformer primary, and motor power leads — UL 1015 (up to 105°C / 600V PVC) is the standard, available across a wide conductor range. See PVC Wire for the range.
1000V Equipment Power Wiring
For internal power connections at higher system voltages, UL 10269 extends the PVC construction to 1000V, suited to equipment with elevated bus or supply voltages.
Higher-Temperature Power Connections
Where power wiring runs at elevated temperatures — motor leads at high winding temperatures, or power connections near heat sources — crosslinked polyethylene provides a non-softening insulation. UL 3271 (125°C / 600V) and UL 3321 (150°C / 600V) cover these conditions. See XLPE Wire for the range.
Selecting Power Connection Wire
The correct power connection wire is determined by the circuit voltage, the conductor size required for the current load, the insulation material, the operating temperature at the routing location, and any compliance requirement set by the end-equipment standard. These AWM styles are single-conductor internal wiring; for multi-core or jacketed cable configurations, confirm the specific construction against the application.
Request a Quotation
To receive a quotation, provide the circuit voltage, the conductor size, the core count (if a multi-conductor assembly is required), the insulation material, the operating environment, the quantity, the application, and the destination market. Quotations are returned within 24 hours.
