Fluoropolymer Wire
Fluoropolymer AWM wire uses fluorinated polymer compounds — FEP, PTFE, and PFA — as the insulation material, providing the highest combination of thermal performance, chemical resistance, and electrical insulation integrity available in the AWM wire range. All three fluoropolymers are chemically inert, resistant to virtually all industrial acids, alkalis, solvents, and fuels, and maintain their insulation properties at temperatures from −60°C to 200°C or above — making fluoropolymer wire the specification for internal wiring in chemical processing equipment, laboratory instruments, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, and any application where both elevated temperature and chemical exposure occur simultaneously.
CableApex produces fluoropolymer AWM wire under UL Follow-Up Service File No. E333030, covering three styles — FEP (UL 1332), PTFE (UL 1659), and PFA (UL 10362) — each with distinct processing characteristics and specific performance advantages. All styles comply with RoHS and REACH.
| UL Style | Polymer | Voltage | Temperature | Key advantage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UL 1332 | FEP | 300V AC | 200°C | Smooth glossy surface, melt-extruded, most flexible of the three |
| UL 1659 | PTFE | 600V AC | 250°C | Highest temperature, broadest chemical resistance, lowest friction |
| UL 10362 | PFA | 600V AC | 250°C | Highest flexibility at rated temperature, smooth surface like FEP |
