Silicone Rubber Wire

Silicone rubber AWM wire provides the highest continuous temperature rating in the standard AWM wire range — 200°C — through the inherent thermal stability of the silicone polymer chain, which maintains its elastic, non-brittle physical form and electrical insulation properties at temperatures where PVC and XLPE insulation would soften, deform, or begin thermal degradation. Silicone insulation also remains flexible at temperatures as low as −60°C, making it the specification of choice for both extreme high temperature and extreme low temperature internal wiring applications.

CableApex produces silicone rubber AWM wire under UL Follow-Up Service File No. E333030, covering four styles with different construction and voltage ratings to match specific routing and application requirements. All styles comply with RoHS and REACH and are available in the AWG range appropriate to each style’s construction.

UL Style Voltage Temperature Construction Primary application
UL 3135 600V AC 200°C Bare silicone rubber Enclosed equipment internal wiring — ovens, motors, transformers
UL 3172 600V AC 200°C Silicone + fiberglass braid Routing past hot metal surfaces, abrasion-prone environments
UL 3122 300V AC 200°C Silicone + fiberglass braid Control and signal circuits in high temperature enclosures
UL 3071 600V AC 200°C Silicone + fiberglass braid Industrial heating equipment, motor leads in hot zones
