UL 3135 Silicone Wire 18 AWG — 200°C / 600V AC / Totally Enclosed Appliance Wiring
UL AWM Style 3135 is a single-conductor extruded silicone rubber insulated wire rated at 200°C and 600V AC under UL Subject 758. The permitted use is internal wiring of appliances where totally enclosed — meaning the wire must be routed inside a closed appliance enclosure and not exposed to open air, direct flame, or unprotected mechanical contact. The 18 AWG size is available within the full Style range of 26–12 AWG.
For silicone wire with fiberglass braid outer covering at the same 200°C / 600V rating, see UL 3172. For high-voltage DC silicone wire, see UL 3239. For FEP fluoropolymer wire with chemical resistance, see UL 1332.

Key Features
- 200°C maximum temperature rating — suited to totally enclosed appliance internal wiring where ambient temperatures exceed standard PVC ratings
- Flexible silicone rubber insulation — maintains flexibility across the operating temperature range; suitable for compact routing in confined enclosures
- 30 mils minimum average insulation wall — per UL Style 3135 construction requirements
- Tinned copper conductor option — available on request; confirm at enquiry stage
- Horizontal flame rating
Typical Applications
UL 3135 is used for internal wiring of appliances where the wire is totally enclosed within the appliance structure. Typical applications where this condition is met include:
- Internal lead connections in heating appliances where the wire is routed within a totally enclosed appliance housing
- Transformer and coil lead connections inside totally enclosed appliance enclosures
- Internal wiring of motor-driven appliances where the wiring section is totally enclosed
Confirm that your application meets the “totally enclosed” requirement of the UL 3135 permitted use before specifying. For applications that are not totally enclosed, consider UL 3172 (silicone rubber with fiberglass braid covering).
