The official Style 3266 Use remains Internal Wiring. 300 Vac is the normal Style voltage rating. 600 Volts Peak is an optional tag restricted to electronic use only. 32–10 AWG is the Style scope rather than guaranteed inventory. “Motor Lead Wire” Is Buyer Terminology, Not the Style Use
This deserves its own section because the two phrases get used interchangeably in enquiries, and they are not the same thing.
UL does not define Style 3266 as motor lead wire, and Style 3266 is not certified specifically for motor leads. The Style Use is Internal Wiring. When a buyer writes “UL3266 motor lead wire” in an RFQ, that is a description of what the wire is being bought for, and the Style boundary still applies to it.
The practical consequence is a single question worth answering in the enquiry: where exactly is the wire installed? A lead inside a motor or equipment assembly, specified by the manufacturer’s drawing, sits within internal wiring. A run between a motor and a separate starter or drive does not.
