UL 3135 Silicone Rubber Wire for Dubai and UAE
This is the regional procurement page for UL AWM Style 3135 silicone rubber wire for buyers in Dubai and elsewhere in the UAE. It is written for appliance and equipment OEM buyers, sourcing teams and distributors whose drawing, BOM or equipment specification calls for Style 3135.
The Style record describes Style 3135 as a single conductor with extruded insulation, rated 200°C and 600 Vac with a Horizontal Flame designation. The insulation is extruded silicone rubber with defined minimum wall requirements, the conductor range is 26 AWG–12 AWG in solid or stranded form, and the official Use is “Internal wiring of appliances where totally enclosed.”
That last phrase carries real weight and is treated here as part of the specification rather than as a formality. The ordered wire is confirmed against the customer’s drawing, BOM, internal wiring location, required marking and documentation.

Nine points to clarify about the table above:
- The conductor range is 26 AWG–12 AWG. Sizes finer than 26 AWG and heavier than 12 AWG are outside this Style.
- Both conductor forms are available across the range; the Style applies no size-dependent form restriction.
- 30 mil minimum average and 27 mil minimum at any point are two independent requirements, not a range and not nominal values.
- The insulation requirement is uniform across the range. The record publishes no size-dependent wall table for this Style.
- The record lists no covering, braid, shield or jacket for Style 3135. A braided or jacketed construction belongs to a different Style.
- The voltage rating is 600 Vac. The record gives no DC rating.
- The flame designation is Horizontal Flame. No VW-1 or other vertical flame designation appears in the record.
- Conductor material, plating, strand count, strand diameter and lay length are not defined by the Style.
- Finished OD, OD tolerance, conductor resistance, bend radius, flex life and ampacity are not defined by the Style.
“Where Totally Enclosed”: the Defining Limit of This Style
The official Use is “Internal wiring of appliances where totally enclosed.” Two conditions apply together: the wiring is internal to an appliance, and the position is totally enclosed.
The second condition is not decoration. It restricts Style 3135 to positions contained within the equipment enclosure, and it excludes exposed or partially open routing, open hot zones, accessible wiring, external equipment wiring, field wiring, building wiring, tray cable and conduit runs. Buyers sometimes enquire in contexts such as ovens, motors, transformers, power supplies, heater assemblies or automation cabinets. Those are enquiry contexts that can be reviewed against a drawing, but they are not approved uses for this Style, and this page does not present Style 3135 as oven wire, motor lead wire, transformer lead wire or general equipment power wire.
Where a buyer’s drawing places the wire in a position that is not totally enclosed, the correct response is an engineering review of the requirement, not a reinterpretation of the Use. Compliance of the finished appliance is established at the equipment level in any case, and is not conferred by the Style designation of one internal wire.
Insulation: 30 mil Minimum Average and 27 mil Minimum at Any Point
The insulation is extruded silicone rubber, and the wall must satisfy two conditions together: an average thickness of at least 30 mils, and a thickness of at least 27 mils at every point around the conductor. Both are floor values rather than a nominal wall, and the second is not a tolerance on the first.
The requirement does not change with conductor size in this Style, so the same two values apply at 26 AWG and at 12 AWG. What does change is the finished dimension, and minimum wall values do not produce one. Actual OD depends on the conductor material and form, the actual conductor diameter, the silicone extrusion and manufacturing tolerance, so adding a generic AWG conductor diameter to the minimum wall does not give a valid product dimension. Where terminal entry, grommet fit or routing clearance is controlled, state a maximum finished OD and OD tolerance in the RFQ.
The record also describes no covering over the insulation. A construction with a braid or jacket over the silicone is a different Style requirement and is quoted as such.

Ratings
The temperature rating is 200°C, stated without a duty or service-duration qualifier. This page does not describe it as continuous or continuous-duty, and derives no service life, thermal cycling count or thermal margin from it.
The voltage rating is 600 Vac. The record gives no DC rating, and the rating describes the wire rather than establishing suitability for any particular circuit. The flame designation is Horizontal Flame; VW-1, FT1, vertical flame, self-extinguishing and fire-resistant descriptions are not applied, and no comparison is drawn here between silicone and other insulation materials at any temperature.
Conductor Range and Form
The Style covers 26 AWG through 12 AWG, solid or stranded. Listings that show a wider span, for example running from 30 AWG to 4/0 AWG, describe sizes the Style does not cover, and an enquiry built on such a listing will not match a qualified Style 3135 construction. A size table is only meaningful here if every entry sits inside 26 AWG–12 AWG.
Within the range, conductor size carries no circuit function and no current capacity. The Style designates no size as signal, control or power wire, gives no ampacity, and none is inferred from conductor size, the 200°C rating or the 600 Vac rating. Conductor material and finish are absent from the record as well: copper, tinned copper, bare copper, nickel-plated copper and silver-plated copper are constructions a buyer may specify rather than properties this page can assert, and strand count, strand diameter, lay construction, stranding classes and flexibility grades are RFQ fields. Flexibility claims in particular are not made here, since the record contains no flex class, flex cycle count or bend radius.
Style scope is also not inventory. Not every size, colour or construction is regularly produced or held, and availability is confirmed per enquiry.
Style Selection Comes from the Drawing
Where a drawing specifies Style 3135, that is the Style quoted. Other silicone AWM Styles carry their own conductor ranges, insulation requirements, covering provisions and Use statements, and this page treats none of them as interchangeable with Style 3135 or as an automatic upgrade or downgrade of it. In particular, a Use statement from another silicone Style is not applied to Style 3135: the “where totally enclosed” condition belongs to this Style and stays with it.

How to Specify UL 3135 for a Dubai or UAE RFQ
A Style designation is a construction requirement, not a complete purchase specification. A complete Style 3135 enquiry adds the parameters the Style leaves open: the AWG within 26 AWG–12 AWG, solid or stranded, conductor material and plating where the drawing controls them, insulation colour, the marking requirement, the internal wiring location and confirmation that it is totally enclosed, maximum OD or OD tolerance where controlled, the drawing or BOM, documentation requirements, quantity, packaging preference, the destination and the requested Incoterm.
Current-carrying capacity is not fixed by this page. It is evaluated through the buyer’s equipment design and the applicable approval process, and a stated circuit requirement can be passed to engineering review rather than converted into an ampere figure here.
Dubai and UAE Procurement Context
Dubai and the UAE are the procurement and destination context for this page. Buyers in the UAE may search for Style 3135 when a drawing or BOM requires a 200°C, 600 Vac AWM internal wiring construction for a totally enclosed appliance position, whether for an equipment build, a replacement part or an export programme. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jebel Ali or another city or port can be named as the destination in an enquiry.
CableApex coordinates international sales, RFQ communication, export documentation review and order confirmation for qualified AWM wire supply. No regional market demand, industry usage or named facility is claimed here, no city or port is described as certified or approved, and no conclusion is drawn about UAE conformity, registration or import approval requirements. Where such requirements apply, the buyer should state them so the applicable documents can be reviewed for the ordered construction. Incoterm, packaging, colour and quantity are handled per enquiry rather than published as fixed terms.

Common Procurement Errors
- Publishing the range as 30 AWG–4/0 AWG, or listing sizes outside 26 AWG–12 AWG.
- Dropping “where totally enclosed” from the Use statement.
- Applying the Use wording of another silicone Style to Style 3135.
- Presenting the wire for oven, motor, transformer, power supply or open hot zone positions as approved uses.
- Writing “200°C continuous”, or adding VW-1 to the flame designation.
- Assuming the conductor is tinned copper, or that all Style 3135 is stranded.
- Claiming a flexibility grade, bend radius or flex life the record does not contain.
- Omitting the 27 mil minimum-at-any-point requirement, or treating 30 mil as a nominal wall.
- Deriving a finished OD from the minimum wall values.
- Assuming a braid or jacket is included.
- Stating a DC rating, or treating 600 Vac as establishing circuit suitability.
- Deriving ampacity from conductor size or the ratings.
- Assuming a fixed document set applies to every UAE shipment.
