UL AWM Style 1007 PVC Hook-Up Wire for UAE Sourcing
This page is the UAE regional sourcing page for UL AWM Style 1007 single-conductor PVC wire across the complete verified Style range of 32 AWG–16 AWG. Style 1007 is a single conductor with extruded PVC insulation. It is rated 80°C and 300 Vac, with a Horizontal Flame rating, and its official Use is “Internal wiring of appliances.” “Hook-up wire” is the commercial term buyers commonly search for. It does not widen that Use, and this page does not present Style 1007 as field wiring or installation wire.
The page also corrects a size error that appears in some UL 1007 listings: the Style 1007 conductor range ends at 16 AWG. 14 AWG and 12 AWG are not Style 1007 sizes.

Eight points to clarify about the table above:
- 32 AWG–16 AWG is the complete verified Style range. 32 AWG is the smallest listed size and 16 AWG is the largest.
- 14 AWG and 12 AWG are outside Style 1007 and are not offered on this page as Style 1007 sizes.
- The Style range defines what can be qualified under Style 1007. It is not a stock list. Availability of a specific AWG, form, colour and construction is confirmed per enquiry.
- The Style permits solid or stranded conductors. It does not define conductor material, plating, strand count, strand diameter or lay length.
- Finished OD, conductor resistance, metric cross-section and ampacity are not in the Style record and require SKU-specific confirmation.
- 15 mil minimum average and 13 mil minimum at any point are two separate minimum requirements. They are not nominal values.
- The Oil rating is optional, and the buyer must specify 60°C or 80°C if an Oil rating is required.
- 600 V Peak – For Electronic Use Only is an optional tag. It is not the normal working-voltage rating, which remains 300 Vac.
The Style 1007 Range Ends at 16 AWG
Every size from 32 AWG up to and including 16 AWG falls inside the Style 1007 conductor range. Nothing larger than 16 AWG does. A UAE specification, BOM or legacy supplier listing that describes “UL 1007 14 AWG” or “UL 1007 12 AWG” contains a requirement that the Style record does not support. Ranges such as “16–12 AWG UL 1007” are likewise not Style 1007 ranges.
When an enquiry names 14 AWG or 12 AWG together with Style 1007, the requirement is not confirmed as valid. The buyer is asked for the drawing, or for the UL Style actually required for that conductor size. Another Style is not substituted silently under the Style 1007 name, and the old rows are not reinterpreted as a different product. Any construction in a different Style is quoted and described under that Style’s own record.
Within the valid range, no AWG size is assigned a circuit role on this page. The Style does not classify 16 AWG as a motor lead, larger sizes as power-distribution conductors, or small sizes as signal wire. It gives no current rating for any AWG, and none is inferred from AWG, the 80°C rating or the 300 Vac rating. The circuit function comes from the buyer’s appliance design.
Conductor: Solid or Stranded, Construction Confirmed per Order
The Style conductor information consists of the AWG range and the permitted forms, solid or stranded. Material and finish are not part of the Style record. Tinned copper is one construction a buyer may specify, but it is not a universal Style 1007 feature, and the Style does not describe the wire as solderable or flexible.
The following items are RFQ fields to be stated by the buyer and confirmed against the proposed SKU:
- solid or stranded form
- conductor material and plating or finish
- strand count, strand diameter and lay construction, where controlled
- maximum conductor resistance, where controlled
- metric cross-section, where a UAE drawing specifies mm² instead of AWG
Generic AWG conversion charts are not used as product data on this page. A mm² or Ω/km figure is meaningful only for an identified construction.
Insulation: Extruded PVC, 15 mil Minimum Average and 13 mil Minimum at Any Point
Style 1007 insulation is extruded PVC with two thickness requirements that apply together. The average wall must not be less than 15 mil, and no point of the wall may be thinner than 13 mil. These requirements are the same across the full 32–16 AWG range. They are minimums, not a range and not a nominal build.
Because the requirement is a minimum wall rather than a finished dimension, no universal finished OD exists for any Style 1007 AWG size. Actual OD depends on:
- conductor material
- solid or stranded form
- the actual conductor construction and diameter
- PVC extrusion
- manufacturing tolerance
Where routing clearance, grommet fit or terminal entry is controlled, the RFQ should state a maximum finished OD and OD tolerance.
“Extruded PVC” does not mean lead-free, halogen-free or LSZH material. PVC contains chlorine, and halogen-free or LSZH terminology is not applied to it on this page.
Ratings and Optional Designations
Temperature: The Style 1007 temperature rating is 80°C. No duty qualifier is attached, and no service life follows from the rating.
Voltage: The normal voltage rating is 300 Vac. The Style record gives no DC rating.
Flame: The verified flame designation is Horizontal Flame. VW-1, FT1 and vertical flame ratings are not part of the Style record and are not claimed.
Oil: A 60°C or 80°C Oil rating is optional and applies only where it is specified and confirmed for the ordered construction. The Oil temperature is a separate designation from the 80°C Style rating.
Tag: Tags may indicate “600 V Peak – For Electronic Use Only.” Whenever this tag is used in a specification, both “Peak” and “For Electronic Use Only” stay with it. It does not change the normal voltage rating or the official Use.
Use Boundary for UAE Buyers
The official Use is “Internal wiring of appliances.” UAE buyer location does not extend it. This page does not position Style 1007 as:
- building, branch-circuit, facility, tray or conduit wiring
- external power distribution or general electrical installation
- data-centre, PDU, UPS or switchgear wire
- EV-charger, medical-device or telecom wire
Compliance of a finished product or assembly, for example an industrial control panel evaluated to UL 508A, is determined at the equipment level. It is not established by the Style designation of one internal wire. Where an appliance OEM drawing calls for Style 1007 in a particular internal circuit, that is a customer-controlled application context and can be reviewed on the drawing.

The UAE is the commercial setting for this page. It covers buyers sourcing Style 1007 by AWG, Dubai and Abu Dhabi procurement teams, distributors requesting a specific Style 1007 construction, and OEMs supplying appliance designs that specify the Style. Bulk Single-Conductor Wire Versus Processed Leads
This page represents Style 1007 single-conductor wire supplied as bulk wire. Supply does not automatically include cutting, stripping, crimping, terminals, connectors, motor or heater leads, finished leads or harnesses. Any processing must be specified separately, with cut and strip lengths, termination details and drawings.

Common Procurement Errors
- Requesting 14 AWG or 12 AWG as Style 1007, or writing 16–12 AWG as the Style range.
- Assuming the complete 32–16 AWG range is stocked in every construction.
- Calling the rating “80°C continuous”.
- Assuming all Style 1007 is tinned copper or stranded.
- Publishing generic mm², Ω/km or finished OD values as SKU data.
- Publishing ampacity by AWG.
- Calling 16 AWG automatically a motor lead, or describing larger “UL 1007” sizes as heater or PDU leads.
- Omitting the 13 mil minimum-at-any-point requirement.
- Treating the optional Oil rating as standard.
- Using 600 V Peak as the normal working-voltage rating, or dropping “For Electronic Use Only”.
- Expanding internal wiring of appliances into field or installation wiring.
- Describing PVC insulation as halogen-free.
