“Hook-up wire” is the commercial term buyers use when searching for this Style. The two restrictions in the official Use, on movement and on mechanical damage, stay with the product regardless of the commercial term, and they are treated here as part of the specification rather than as a footnote.

Ten points to clarify about the table above:
- 80°C, 90°C and 105°C are alternative options. One applies to a given construction and must be confirmed for the ordered construction.
- 300 Vac is the normal voltage rating for the Style. No DC rating appears in the record.
- 600 Volts Peak for Electronic Use Only is an optional tag indication, not the normal voltage rating.

The Three Temperature Options Are Alternatives
A Style 1569 construction carries the temperature rating confirmed for it, so an enquiry for “UL 1569” without a stated option leaves the specification incomplete. Buyers in Vietnam and Indonesia whose equipment specification controls a wire temperature rating should state 80°C, 90°C or 105°C, or supply the drawing that states it.
The rating is not described here as continuous, and no service life or thermal margin is derived from it. This page also does not assign a temperature option to an appliance type or to a routing position. The Style record contains no equipment ambient temperatures, no thermal profiles for ovens, power supplies, luminaires or motors, and no rule that proximity to a heat source calls for a particular option. That determination belongs to the buyer’s thermal design and approved BOM.
300 Vac and the Optional Peak Tag
The normal voltage rating is 300 Vac. It is not written as 300 Vdc or as an AC/DC rating, and it is not raised to 600 Vac on the strength of the optional tag.
Tags may indicate “600 Volts Peak for Electronic Use Only.” Both qualifiers stay attached whenever the tag is cited in a specification. The tag is not a working-voltage rating and does not widen the official Use.
Two Insulation Wall Groups Across 30 AWG–2 AWG
Style 1569 sets the extruded PVC wall in two conductor-size groups. For 30–10 AWG the requirement is 15 mil minimum average and 13 mil minimum at any point. For 9–2 AWG it rises to 30 mil minimum average and 27 mil minimum at any point. A specification that quotes one wall figure for the whole Style has applied one group’s values outside their range.
If “thin-wall” is used commercially, it describes the 30–10 AWG group only. The 9–2 AWG group carries the heavier wall requirement, and no percentage dimensional advantage is claimed here for the Style as a whole.
Minimum wall values do not produce a finished outer diameter. Actual OD depends on conductor material, solid or stranded form, the actual conductor dimensions, the applicable insulation group, whether the optional covering is applied, PVC extrusion and manufacturing tolerance. Where routing clearance or terminal entry is controlled, state a maximum finished OD and OD tolerance in the RFQ.
The Optional Extruded PVC Covering
An extruded PVC covering is permitted by the Style as an option, with its own requirement of 9 mil minimum average and 8 mil minimum at any point. The record establishes that the covering is optional and states those minimums. It does not state a purpose for the covering, and none is supplied here.
Two consequences follow for procurement. First, a Style 1569 construction does not include the covering unless it is specified, so an enquiry that requires it should say so explicitly. Second, no performance is attributed to it on this page, whether abrasion resistance, mechanical protection, improved flame behaviour or dielectric benefit. If the buyer’s design relies on the covering for a defined function, that requirement belongs in the drawing and is reviewed against the proposed construction.
Conductor Range, Availability and Circuit Function
The Style scope runs from 30 AWG to 2 AWG, and both ends belong to it. Describing the Style as a 30–10 AWG product omits the 9–2 AWG group together with its separate wall requirement.
Scope is not availability. Not every size is regularly produced, held in stock, offered in every temperature option, available in every colour or quoted on the same terms, and commercial availability of a proposed construction is confirmed per enquiry.
Conductor size also does not assign circuit function or current capacity. The Style designates no size as signal wire, control wire, power wire or a feed conductor, and gives no ampacity for any size. No current value is inferred here from conductor size, the 300 Vac rating, the wall thickness or the temperature option. Where a Vietnamese or Indonesian buyer’s BOM specifies a particular size of Style 1569 in a particular internal position, the equipment design controls the function and the current requirement.
Conductor Construction Confirmed at Order
At Style level the conductor is described as solid or stranded across the size range. Material and construction remain open, so the following are RFQ fields:

- strand count, strand diameter and lay construction, where controlled
- maximum conductor resistance, where controlled
Stranding-class designations and flexibility grades are not part of the record and are not applied to Style 1569 here. Resistance figures from generic conductor tables or from another manufacturer’s datasheet are not used as product data.
Official Use and Its Two Restrictions
The official Use is “Internal wiring of appliances or electronic equipment where not subjected to movement or mechanical damage.” Three elements of that sentence matter in procurement.
The Use covers appliances and electronic equipment. Dropping either term narrows or widens the Style incorrectly.
The movement restriction stands. Style 1569 is not presented for continuous flexing, moving or hinged harnesses, drag chains, robotic motion or any repeated mechanical movement.
The mechanical-damage restriction also stands. The wire is not presented for exposed or unprotected routing, abrasive locations or field-installed runs where mechanical damage may occur. Protection of the wire at its routing position is part of the equipment design.
Within those limits, “protected static internal wiring” is a practical way to describe the restriction in an enquiry, though it is not itself a UL Use category. The Use is likewise not extended to building or field wiring, branch circuits, tray or conduit wiring, portable cord or external equipment wiring, and buyer location in Vietnam or Indonesia does not change it. Compliance of a finished appliance or electronic product is established at the equipment level, not by the Style designation of one internal wire.
