UL 3122 Silicone Rubber Wire — 200°C / 300V AC / Lacquered Braid / 26–16 AWG — Vietnam

UL AWM Style 3122 is a single-conductor extruded silicone rubber insulated wire with a lacquered braid outer covering, rated at 200°C and 300V AC under UL Subject 758. The insulation uses extruded silicone rubber at 15 mils minimum average wall thickness, with a lacquered cotton or fiberglass braid applied over the silicone rubber as the outer covering. The conductor range covers 26 AWG to 16 AWG in solid or stranded construction. The permitted use is internal wiring of appliances. Export supply: CIF Ho Chi Minh City.

UL 3122 is the 300V lacquered braid variant in the UL 3071 / 3122 / 3135 / 3172 silicone rubber family. The lacquered braid outer covering provides a dry, non-tacky surface and mechanical protection compared to bare silicone rubber, while maintaining the 200°C temperature rating. For 300V bare silicone rubber in the 26–12 AWG range, see UL 3135. For 600V silicone rubber with fiberglass braid, see UL 3172.

UL 3122 silicone rubber lacquered braid wire used as transformer coil lead connection in appliance internal wiring, 200°C, 300V AC, Vietnam OEM production

Applications in Vietnam

Transformer coil lead wiring in appliance OEM production

Vietnamese appliance OEMs assembling transformers for export require UL-recognized internal lead wire for coil-to-terminal connections. UL 3122’s 300V rating covers the secondary side of step-down and isolation transformers used in household appliances, while the lacquered braid provides a manageable surface for hand-routing through tight coil former channels. The 26–18 AWG fine-gauge end of the range suits small transformer coil exit wires where conductor current is low but 200°C insulation performance is required.

Motor and solenoid coil lead connections in heating equipment

Vietnamese heating equipment manufacturers — electric ovens, drying equipment, and process heaters — use UL 3122 for motor coil lead connections and solenoid valve wiring inside equipment enclosures where the wire routing location temperature exceeds the 105°C limit of standard PVC wire. The lacquered braid outer covering provides a non-tacky surface that handles cleanly during assembly compared to bare silicone rubber, which can attract particulate contamination during production.

Compact appliance wiring harnesses requiring 200°C insulation

Vietnamese compact appliance OEMs assembling products for markets requiring UL component recognition use UL 3122 for internal wiring harnesses where the circuit voltage is within the 300V limit and the routing temperature requires 200°C-rated insulation. The fine AWG range (26–16 AWG) and lacquered braid outer covering suit hand-assembly wiring harness production in compact appliance enclosures. Confirm that the application meets UL 3122’s permitted use of internal wiring of appliances before specifying.

Other applications

  • Sensor and thermocouple lead connections in high-temperature appliance enclosures — confirm voltage and current at enquiry
  • Internal control circuit wiring at 300V in enclosed heating equipment
  • OEM appliance internal wiring harnesses requiring lacquered braid surface for assembly handling
