UL AWM Style 1007 32 AWG Stranded PVC Wire for Saudi Arabia Sourcing

This page covers one procurement requirement: single-conductor UL AWM Style 1007 wire in 32 AWG with a stranded conductor, sourced for buyers in Saudi Arabia. It is written for Saudi OEM procurement teams, distributors and component buyers who already hold a drawing, bill of materials or existing wire specification calling for 32 AWG Style 1007 stranded wire, and who need to confirm what the Style itself requires before requesting a quotation.

Style 1007 is a single conductor with extruded PVC insulation, rated 80°C and 300 Vac, with a Horizontal Flame rating. Its official Use is “Internal wiring of appliances.” 32 AWG is the smallest conductor size in the Style 1007 range of 32 AWG–16 AWG. The Style permits solid or stranded conductors. This page addresses the stranded form because that is the buyer-facing requirement, not because the Style mandates stranding.

The sections below separate three layers that are often merged in wire listings. The first is what the UL Style record defines. The second is what the page-specific requirement adds: 32 AWG and stranded construction. The third is what stays open until a specific construction is confirmed during RFQ.

Eight points to clarify about the table above:

  1. 32 AWG is the page-specific size. It is the smallest conductor size listed in the Style 1007 range.
  2. Stranded is the conductor form this page targets. Style 1007 also permits solid conductor construction.
  3. The Style does not define conductor material, plating or finish, strand count, strand diameter or lay length. These are construction details confirmed per SKU.
  4. 15 mil minimum average and 13 mil minimum at any point are two separate minimum requirements. They are not a range and not nominal values.
  5. The Oil rating is optional. It is not part of every Style 1007 construction, and the 60°C or 80°C choice must be specified.
  6. The normal voltage rating is 300 Vac. The optional 600 V Peak – For Electronic Use Only tag is not a normal working-voltage rating.
  7. The table is a written summary of verified Style requirements plus the page-specific size and form. It is not a verbatim reproduction of an official record.
  8. No finished outer diameter, conductor resistance, cross-section in mm² or current rating appears in the Style record, so none is listed here.

32 AWG Within the Style 1007 Conductor Range

Style 1007 covers 32 AWG through 16 AWG, and 32 AWG sits at the lower limit of that range. A 32 AWG construction can therefore be qualified under Style 1007. That does not mean every manufacturer working under the Style produces 32 AWG, or that a stranded 32 AWG construction is held in stock. Availability of the exact construction is confirmed during quotation.

The Style record states conductor size by AWG only. It gives no cross-sectional area in mm², conductor diameter or conductor resistance. If a Saudi buyer’s documents control a metric cross-section or a maximum resistance, treat that value as a buyer requirement. It must be checked against the proposed SKU data, not read from the Style or copied from a generic AWG chart.

A small conductor size does not assign a circuit function. Where an appliance design or BOM specifies 32 AWG Style 1007 stranded wire, confirm the circuit function from the customer’s drawing. The Style does not classify the wire as signal, sensor, measurement, data or communication wire, and the record gives no current rating.

Stranded Construction: Page Requirement, Not Style Requirement

The historical identity of this product is 32 AWG stranded wire, and the page keeps that focus. The Style permits both solid and stranded conductors, so “stranded” is the buyer’s requirement layered on top of Style 1007, not a Style restriction. A solid 32 AWG construction would also fall within the Style.

Stating “stranded” fixes the conductor form and nothing more. The Style leaves the following undefined:

  • conductor material
  • plating or surface finish
  • number of strands
  • individual strand diameter
  • lay length and lay construction

These are RFQ fields. If an existing Saudi specification names a particular material, finish or strand build, include it in the enquiry so the proposed construction can be compared with it. No strand fineness is claimed here unless a datasheet for the actual SKU confirms it.

Insulation: 15 mil Minimum Average and 13 mil Minimum at Any Point

Style 1007 specifies extruded PVC insulation with two independent thickness requirements:

  • a 15 mil minimum average thickness
  • a 13 mil minimum thickness at any point

A construction must meet both. The 13 mil figure limits the thinnest local point of the wall. The 15 mil figure applies to the average. Neither value is a nominal or exact wall thickness.

Minimum wall values do not produce a finished outer diameter. Actual OD depends on:

  • conductor material
  • solid or stranded form
  • actual strand construction and conductor diameter
  • PVC extrusion
  • manufacturing tolerance

Adding a generic 32 AWG conductor diameter to the minimum wall does not give a valid product dimension. If routing clearance or terminal entry matters, specify a maximum finished OD and OD tolerance in the RFQ.

“Extruded PVC” is the verified material description. It does not automatically mean lead-free PVC, and it does not mean flame performance beyond the Horizontal Flame rating. PVC contains chlorine, so it is not a halogen-free material.

Ratings and Optional Designations

Temperature: The Style temperature rating is 80°C. No duty-cycle qualifier is attached to it, and no service life or thermal cycling figure follows from it.

Voltage: The normal voltage rating is 300 Vac. The Style record states no DC voltage rating.

Flame: The verified flame rating is Horizontal Flame. VW-1, FT1 or other vertical flame ratings are not part of the Style 1007 record and are not claimed.

Oil: A 60°C or 80°C Oil rating is optional. If an Oil rating is required, the buyer should state which option and have it confirmed for the ordered construction. The Oil temperature is a separate designation from the 80°C Style temperature rating.

Tag: Tags may indicate “600 V Peak – For Electronic Use Only.” This optional tag is not the normal voltage rating and not a working voltage. It does not widen the official Use. Whenever the tag is cited in a specification, both qualifiers “Peak” and “For Electronic Use Only” must be kept with it.

Use Boundary: Internal Wiring of Appliances

The official Use of Style 1007 is “Internal wiring of appliances.” This page applies that boundary without extension. It does not present the wire as building wire, branch-circuit wiring, facility wiring, tray or conduit wiring, or external cable. It also does not present it as automotive harness wire, telecommunications field wiring or medical-equipment wire.

A buyer’s finished-equipment standards, such as medical or automotive requirements, are assessed at the equipment level. Style 1007 recognition alone does not establish that suitability. Prototype appliance projects may request Style 1007 according to their design requirements, but prototype use does not change the Use statement. Buyer location in Saudi Arabia does not change it either.

Saudi Arabia Sourcing Context

Saudi Arabia is the commercial setting for this page: buyer location, OEM procurement market, distributor market and shipment destination. Typical enquiries come from Saudi procurement teams requesting 32 AWG Style 1007 stranded wire against an existing BOM or drawing, or from Saudi OEMs seeking qualified 32 AWG internal wire for appliance designs.

This page draws no conclusion on Saudi regulatory conformity. If a tender, importer or conformity programme sets specific requirements, the buyer should provide the applicable specification and the list of required documents so they can be reviewed for the ordered construction. Destination city or port, Incoterm, packaging and quantity are handled per quotation, not as fixed terms.

Bulk Single-Conductor Wire Versus Processed Leads

This page represents single-conductor Style 1007 wire supplied as bulk wire. Supply does not automatically include cutting, stripping, crimping, terminals, connectors, finished leads or wiring assemblies. If processed wire is needed, specify cut length, strip lengths, termination and any assembly drawing separately in the RFQ.

What Style 1007 Does and Does Not Define

Style 1007 defines:

  • 80°C temperature rating and 300 Vac normal voltage rating
  • Horizontal Flame
  • optional 60°C or 80°C Oil
  • conductor range 32 AWG–16 AWG, solid or stranded
  • extruded PVC insulation, 15 mil minimum average / 13 mil minimum at any point
  • Marking: General
  • Use: Internal wiring of appliances.
  • optional tag: 600 V Peak – For Electronic Use Only

Style 1007 does not universally define:

  • conductor material, plating, strand count, strand diameter or lay length
  • a product-specific cross-section in mm²
  • finished OD or OD tolerance
  • conductor resistance
  • ampacity or current rating
  • signal, sensor, medical, telecommunications or automotive suitability
  • colour, reel length, MOQ, stock, lead time, production capacity or shipping term

Common Procurement Errors

  • Writing “80°C continuous” instead of the 80°C rating as stated.
  • Assuming Style 1007 32 AWG must be tinned copper.
  • Using a generic 32 AWG cross-section in mm² as certified SKU data.
  • Using a generic 32 AWG resistance figure as Style data.
  • Publishing one finished OD as universal for all 32 AWG constructions.
  • Calling 32 AWG automatically a signal or sensor wire.
  • Omitting the 13 mil minimum-at-any-point requirement.
  • Treating the optional Oil rating as standard.
  • Using 600 V Peak as the normal voltage rating, or dropping “For Electronic Use Only” from the tag.
  • Assuming RoHS / REACH documentation applies automatically to every order.
  • Extending internal wiring of appliances to medical, automotive, telecom or field wiring.
  • Assuming every 32 AWG Style 1007 construction is stocked.
