UL 3666 XLPE Wire
UL 3666 is a cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated wire rated 105°C and 600V AC under UL AWM Style 3666, supplied as a UL Recognized Component — file on record. UL 3666 carries the same 105°C temperature rating as UL 1015 PVC wire but uses crosslinked polyethylene insulation, which offers improved heat deformation resistance compared with many PVC constructions at the same temperature rating. It is commonly selected as an XLPE alternative to selected PVC AWM styles in appliance and equipment internal wiring where improved dimensional stability at the rated temperature is needed.
The crosslinked structure converts thermoplastic PE into a material with improved thermal stability, maintaining the physical form of the insulation at 105°C continuous — a characteristic that may benefit wiring in higher-ambient-temperature enclosures where the operating temperature approaches the rated limit. UL 3666 is suited to protected internal wiring of appliances, OEM equipment, and selected control equipment connections within the 105°C / 600V rating. For higher-temperature XLPE applications, see UL 3266 (125°C / 300V) and UL 3321 (150°C / 600V). UL Style 3666 covers 32 AWG to 1000 kcmil; common supply range is 32 AWG to 4/0 AWG, with larger sizes order-dependent. RoHS and REACH documentation is available on request.
