UL 3135 Silicone Wire

This category covers UL AWM Style 3135 silicone rubber wire in the full 26 AWG to 12 AWG conductor range, rated 200°C maximum at 600 Vac. All constructions use extruded silicone rubber insulation at 30 mils minimum average wall thickness (27 mils minimum at any point), supplied without an outer braid covering. UL AWM Style 3135 is designated for the internal wiring of appliances where totally enclosed. CableApex supplies UL AWM Style 3135 from factory production; UL AWM Style 3135 marking and documentation can be confirmed for the ordered construction.

UL 3135 is the bare-silicone option within the silicone AWM range. Where the routing location requires a braided outer covering for surface protection at contact points, the braided silicone Styles listed at the foot of this page cover that requirement at the same 200°C temperature class.

Available UL 3135 Wire Sizes and Constructions

UL AWM Style 3135 is supplied to order across the following construction variables. The insulation wall is uniform at 30 mils minimum average across the entire 26–12 AWG range, so finished outer diameter varies with conductor size alone rather than with a stepped wall class.

  • AWG sizes — 26 AWG to 12 AWG. Commonly ordered sizes across this range are supplied from standard production; confirm the required size or sizes at the enquiry stage. Mixed-AWG orders accepted on a single shipment.
  • Solid or stranded conductor. Both are within the UL Style 3135 scope. Stranded is generally specified where the lead is positioned or formed during assembly; solid is available where the routing path is fixed and the termination method accommodates it.
  • Conductor plating. Bare or tinned copper is an order-dependent construction detail, driven by the termination method used in the assembly. Specify at the enquiry stage.
  • Insulation colour. Standard colours: red, black, white, yellow, blue, green, brown, orange. Custom colours available on request. Minimum order quantity applies per colour per AWG.
  • Reel length and quantity. Spool lengths, reel formats, and cut-to-length packaging produced to buyer specification. Minimum order quantity 100m per colour per AWG.
  • Marking and documentation. UL AWM Style 3135 marking and documentation can be confirmed for the ordered construction. RoHS and REACH documentation available on request where applicable.

Totally Enclosed Appliance Internal Wiring

The UL Style 3135 file designates this Style for internal wiring of appliances where totally enclosed. Constructions in this category are supplied for:

  • Appliance internal wiring inside totally enclosed assemblies where a 200°C maximum silicone rubber construction is specified
  • Protected internal wiring within enclosed equipment assemblies at 600 Vac
  • OEM internal lead wire connections routed entirely within the enclosed assembly structure
  • Internal wire routing where the enclosure fully contains the wire path and the silicone rubber temperature class and handling characteristics are required by the equipment design

UL AWM Style 3135 is not supplied or positioned for building wiring, field wiring, general power cable, exposed equipment wiring, or any routing outside a totally enclosed assembly. Current-carrying capacity, thermal derating, and the acceptability of a specific construction for a given installation are determined at the equipment design and equipment-level evaluation stage.
